Fragrant Colors: Water 2011

Summer Moment

Green Reflection

Blue Stream

Warm Green

Glittering Water

"Fragrant colors" is one of the themes of my work. It is an attempt to express natural scenes that are distinctively Japanese by portraying the rich scents emitted by lustrous colors and the subtle fragrances given off by delicate hues. I wanted to superimpose the project theme of "Eternity at a Moment" to my own theme. As a result, I chose "pure water" as the main motif.
The color of water repeatedly changes due to natural light and weather changes, and also depending on the angle from which it is viewed. I tried to contain in the water the colors of that moment and an eternal scent. I used slow shutter speeds for all the images, and that seems to have worked well as a technique for imbuing the water with colors. It is my hope that viewers might feel, through these images, the fragrances of water and "Eternity at a Moment."
Feedback on having used 18-270mm (Model B008)
To confront the subject with only one lens as an ally—I was reminded of just how much doing so helps sustain a very high level of concentration. This lens is at the apex of all high-power zoom lenses.
