MESSAGE

The first time I ever traveled by myself on a train was when I was in elementary school. I recall my young self gazing out the window in rapt concentration, never growing even the slightest bit bored.

Ever since then, I have loved train journeys.

As years passed, the beloved train travel eventually became my work, and I found myself with the nickname, "Tetsuko" ("Train Girl"), which has become a name for all girls who love trains.

When I heard the phrase "Eternity at a Moment," what popped into my head was, of course, train travel. The view from the train window changes every moment, and it is not possible to ever backtrack. The scenes that pass before our eyes belong to that time only. That is what makes each scene of each moment all the more precious, each imprinted in one's mind as eternal memory.

Many years have passed since that first train journey, but I still love looking out the window while being gently rocked by the moving train. The images shown here, too, are scenes I fondly viewed through the train window while I took a summer journey in Hokkaido with my Model B008.

Feedback on having used 18-270mm (Model B008)

When I held this lens in hand, I was first of all surprised by its lightness and compactness. With its high power zoom, it could handle a wide variety of scenes, and I have of course placed my absolute trust in its specs. This lens is certainly the ideal partner for travel, and is such an enjoyable lens to photograph with.
